Network orchestration: new role of business incubators?

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze the performance incubators in stages formation and development incubated business networks, especially bottom-up top-down network models. Design/methodology/approach research defined as qualitative descriptive, with application multiple case studies, which two networks businesses were investigated, one being other bottom-up, emerged within incubation process (CIETEC INCIT). To make study operational, 11 semi-structured interviews carried out thematic analysis content was developed. Findings results pointed that incubator performs a new assignment, orchestration, corresponds actions formation, coordination governance group. In network, it found role expand value offers usually practiced. Research limitations/implications As limitation research, very studies they do not allow for generalizations. Practical implications contributes reflections on effectiveness sheds light complementarity processes, providing gains incubators, society. Originality/value originality document incubator, its categorization. us understand effects relationships businesses. addition, broadens focus traditional analyses incubator–incubated duo consider incubator–network–incubated trio.
